Who You Are

This Superintendent opening is a key new position because of our recent growth.

You have been managing construction sites for the past 5 years and understand how concrete and steel come together. As a Superintendent with Cooper, you oversee all aspects of construction projects from managing on-site activities to coordinating subcontractors and material deliveries, to monitoring project progress to emphasizing and enforcing safety practices and planning and scheduling project tasks. Delivering a quality job on time and on budget is a given. You go above and beyond that expectation by innovating, creating and working collaboratively with the team, our trade partners and our clients.

The first job you lead will range between $3 million to $5 million. Because we are growing, your subsequent projects will become increasingly challenging and complex. As the company grows, you will grow too. You hold a “failure is not an option” mentality and know how to get stuff done. You are a master communicator: keeping multiple trades, your client, city officials, and consultants on the same page.

What You Bring

• Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and manage resources effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Experience with project management software and tools.
• Ability to enforce safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all workers on the site.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and scheduling of projects, ensuring that work is being performed in accordance with the project schedule and specifications.
• Oversee all on-site activities, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and material deliveries.
• Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to keep the project on track.
• Communicate regularly with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and involved in the project.
• Enforce safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all workers on the site.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
• Lead and manage project teams, ensuring that team members are working effectively and efficiently.
• Identify and manage project risks, proactively addressing issues and ensuring that projects stay on schedule and within budget.

 

Requirements

• Possess a valid driver’s license and have a reliable means of transportation to and from job sites.
• Pass a background check.
• Must be able to perform physical work, including prolonged periods of standing, walking, and climbing stairs or ladders, as well as lifting and carrying heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in all outdoor weather conditions.
• Must have good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and the ability to operate construction equipment and tools safely and effectively.

 

The Superintendent position is an exempt, full-time position. This position is not eligible to work remotely. We are based in Plano, Texas.

Job Type: Full-time

Structure: Reports to General Superintendent and Vice President of Operations, and may have direct reports.

Pay: Salary is commensurate with experience
